AFTER MF HUSAIN INDIAN OIL PAINTING ELEPHANTS - Oil on canvas painting. After Maqbool Fida Husain, 1915 to 2011, an Indian Modernist artist known for his expolrations of Indian culture and the history of British Raj. The artwork depicts two half-elephant, half-human figures with a musical instrument and fruit. Untitled. Signed in the upper right. Undated. The piece comes with a certificate. Elephants appear in a number of Husains works which derived from his interest in the classical arts, namely sculpture and its depiction of the elephant god, Ganesha. Elephants have had a long association with India, as symbols of strength, nobility and grace.
