WILLIAM PENNY ANTIQUE 19TH C BRITISH OIL PAINTING - William Daniel Penny, British, 1834 to 1924, an oil on board painting Stormy Sea, 1887, depicting a shipping vessel on stormy seas. Signed and dated lower left. Housed in an ornate gilt wood frame. William Penny was born in Caistor Lincolnshire, England but was listed in the Hull directories from 1869 as a Marine artist living in the City until the turn of the century when he became publican of the Artists Rest in Cross St., Aldborough, East Yorkshire.
