ALFRED SISLEY FRENCH IMPRESSIONIST OIL PAINTING - Alfred Sisley, French, 1839 to 1889, an impressionist oil on board painting Sea. Housed in a gilt wood and gesso frame with a metal name plate below. Note: Alfred Sisley was a French Impressionist painter who in 1862 joined the studio of Charles Gleyre, which Monet, Renoir and Frederic Bazille also attended. When Gleyres studio closed in 1863, Sisley went on to paint with Monet, Renoir and Bazille. Sisleys paintings were accepted for the Salons of 1866, 1868, 1870 and he was a member of the Societe Nationale des Beaux-Arts. One of a kind artwork.
