FRENCH CITYSCAPE OIL PAINTING SIGNED JEAN DUFY - An oil painting on canvas depicting a cityscape scene. Signed, Jean Dufy, lower left. Framed. Jean Dufy is known for painting city scenes and musicians, porcelain decoration, and theatre sets. Jean Dufy was a French painter of Parisian society, country scenes, circuses, horse races, theatrical productions, and orchestras. His work was exhibited in museums and galleries throughout his career. He was Raoul Dufys brother. He became acquainted with artists Andre Derain, Georges Braque, Pablo Picasso and the poet Guillaume Apollinaire. In 1914, Dufys watercolours were exhibited at the Galerie Berthe Weill.
