GERMAN WWII SCHUTZENSCHNUR LUFTWAFFE MARKSMAN CORD - A German WWII ceremonial Schutzenschnur, Luftwaffe marksman cord for excellent shooting. The tightly woven cord of silver tone with a badge modeled in the shape of a wreath of oak leaves, in the center of which is depicted a flying eagle, the symbol of the Luftwaffe, with a swastika in its talons. The marksmans cords were introduced on June 29, 1936, to increase interest in marksmanship and to recognize good marksmen. The cords were available in 12 grades for infantry and armored personnel.
