Pierre Alechinsky, Belgian, born 1927, a color lithograph exhibition poster created for the artists show at the Galerie Maeght in Paris, 1981. The text on the poster reads Encres sur cartes de navigation and peintures de lannee. Printed by Arte, Paris, and published by Galerie Maeght. A leading figure in postwar European art, Alechinsky is closely associated with tachisme, abstract expressionism, and lyrical abstraction. Provenance: a well-preserved time capsule within the prestigious Decoration and Design Building in New York City, a landmark trade hub celebrated among top interior designers.
