LITHOGRAPH EXHIBITION POSTER BY SERGE POLIAKOFF 1975
Serge Poliakoff, French, 1900 to 1969, a color lithograph exhibition poster Red, Yellow, and Black Composition, 1975. Signed in the plate, created for the exhibition at Galerie Melki in Basel, Switzerland. Put on stone by Charles Sorlier, Poliakoffs frequent collaborator at the Mourlot workshops. Poliakoff was a modernist artist, a key figure of the New Ecole de Paris, known for his contributions to post-war abstraction. Provenance: a well-preserved time capsule within the prestigious Decoration and Design Building in New York City, a landmark trade hub celebrated among top interior designers.
