Signed in the plate, created for the exhibition at Galerie Melki in Basel, Switzerland. Put on stone by Charles Sorlier, Poliakoffs frequent collaborator at the Mourlot workshops. Poliakoff was a modernist artist, a key figure of the New Ecole de Paris, known for his contributions to post-war abstraction. Provenance: a well-preserved time capsule within the prestigious Decoration and Design Building in New York City, a landmark trade hub celebrated among top interior designers.
