PAIR OF ANTIQUE 19TH C JAPANESE WOOD BLOCK PRINTS - A lot of two antique 19th century Japanese wood block prints on paper. The first print is the Takigawa of the Ogiya Brothel by Hosoda Eishi, a Japanese ukiyo-e artist, pupil of Kano Eisenin Michinobu. And the second is the Autumn moon on the Sumida river, depicting three girls in an open room, with a view of Ryogoku bridge by Torii Kiyonaga, a Japanese ukiyo-e artist of the Torii school. Kiyonaga is considered one of the great masters of the full color nishiki e print and of bijin ga, images of courtesans and other beautiful women.
