ANTIQUE 19TH C FRENCH PAINTING BY LOUIS TINAYRE 1897 - Louis Tinayre, French, 1861 to 1942, a mixed media on paper painting, La Revue De Krasnoe Selo, Le Tsar Nicholas II et le Grand-Duc Vladimir Devant la Tribune Imperiale (La Revue De Krasnoe Selo, The Tsar and the Grand Duke Vladimir in Front of The Imperial Tribune), 1897. Signed and dated lower right. Matted and framed. Note: Louis Tinayre was a French illustrator and painter. He did panoramas and dioramas of Madagascar and paintings of Albert I, Prince of Monaco on his hunts around the world. Tinayre graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in Budapest. Tinayre began his career as an illustrator for the French press. He became known as a draughtsman and painter of animals. In 1895, he became a correspondent for Le Monde Illustre, and he covered the Second Madagascar expedition. His panoramas and dioramas of Madagascar were exhibited at the Universal Exhibition of 1900 in Paris. From 1901 onwards, he joined Albert I, Prince of Monaco, on his hunts and painted those scenes in North Africa, Russia, the Far West, and the North Pole. One of a kind artwork.
