LUIGI LUCIONI ITALIAN AMERICAN LANDSCAPE ETCHING - Etching on paper by Luigi Lucioni, 1900 to 1988, an Italian-American painter best known for his detailed portraits, still lifes, and landscapes of the Vermont countryside. The artwork depicts a forest view. Titled Tree Tapestry. Undated. Signed by the artist in pencil in the lower right. Matted and framed. Associated American Artists label is on the backside. Lucioni was a student of William de Leftwich Dodge and William Auerbach-Levy. Completed in a style reminiscent of realist painters Winslow Homer and Thomas Eakins, his paintings are meditative and meticulous. Lucionis works are in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., the Indianapolis Museum of Art, and the Cleveland Museum of Art, among others.
