DUTCH LANDSCAPE OIL PAINTING BY PETER COX FRAMED - Peter Johannes Antonius Cox, Dutch, 1912 to 1985, an oil painting on canvas depicting a mountain landscape. Signed lower right. Framed. Peter Johannes Antonius Cox was born in Mook, Limburg, the Netherlands, and studied at Pensionaat Rolduc Art School and Kunst Techniek en Ambacht Art School. Cox briefly worked in the marketing department for Philips electronics in Eindhoven before turning to art as a profession in 1936. He was part of the Plasmolen circle of Dutch painters working around Mook in Limburg, working in pastels, pen drawings, lithographs, aquarel, gouaches and oil painting.
