ANTIQUE 19C RUSSIAN ORTHODOX ICON OF DEESIS - An antique 19th century Russian Orthodox icon of the Deesis. Hand painted in egg tempera, gesso, gold leaf and levkas on a wood board. He represents the open gospel and raised his right hand in a blessed gesture. His Blessed Mother and John the Baptist are on his side. Bears inscriptions in Church Slavonic.
