LTD SURREAL COLOR LITHOGRAPH SIGNED JOAN MIRO
A limited edition color lithograph on paper depicting a Surreal composition from from Derriere le Miroir. Signed in pencil, Miro, lower right. Inscribed in pencil, Artist Proof, lower left. Framed. Joan Miro, Spanish, 1893 to 1983, a Catalan painter, sculptor, and ceramicist. Earning international acclaim, his work has been interpreted as Surrealism but with a personal style, sometimes also veering into Fauvism and Expressionism. He was notable for his interest in the unconscious or the subconscious mind, reflected in his re creation of the childlike. His difficult to classify works also had a manifestation of Catalan pride.
