TURKISH GENRE SCENE OIL PAINTING BY FAHRI SUMER
Fahri Sumer, Turkish, 1942 to 2023, an oil painting on canvas depicting a rural genre scene with three women. Signed lower right. Framed. Fahri Sumer was a Turkish painter. He painted under the influence of Japanese and Chinese art forms, as well as the works of Rembrandt, Cezanne, Bernard Buffet. He is known for landscapes, nudes, portraits and still lifes. His work is characterized by unclear forms and muted colors. His landscapes, since the 1990s, are mainly sensual reflections of the picturesque areas of the coastal cities of the Aegean Sea.
