ANTIQUE 19TH C GRAND TOUR BRONZE AFTER DANNECKER - A small antique 19th century Italian Grand Tour bronze sculpture of Ariadne and the Panther depicting the nude figure of Ariadne seated on the panther, sculpted after the original by Johann Heinrich Dannecker, German, 1758 to 1841. He worked in Stuttgart for the Duke of Wurttemberg. He designed Ariadne riding a panther in 1803 and made it in marble in 1814. The original is now in the Liebieghaus, Frankfurt am Main.
