RUSSIAN SOVIET PROPAGANDA SATIRICAL POSTER 1985 - A vintage Russian Soviet mixed media on paper maquette of the satirical poster titled Drink Up. Presumably designed by Yuri Trunev, 1921 to 1986, Soviet graphic artist, member of the Combat Pencil, a creative association of Leningrad artists who produced propaganda posters in the USSR. The Russian text read as follows: Drink Up. The poster maquette depicts a captain and a sailor drinking alcohol. The Russian wordplay text read as follows: Drink Up. Toast means to drink to the bottom of the glass, but since they are in the workplace, it can lead to the ships sinking to the bottom of the sea. Printed by The artist of the RSFSR publishing house, 1985. There are original signatures, notes, and stamps on the backside of the maquette of the poster.
