MILTON GOLDSTEIN AMERICAN COLOR ETCHING ROOSTER - Milton Goldstein, American, 1914 to 2004, encaustic color etching on paper. The artwork depicts a rooster with an enlarged eye. Signed by the artist in the lower right. Titled Rooster and numbered 198 out of 300 in the lower left. Embossed stamp on the backside. Unframed. Born in Holyoke, Mass., Goldstein began his career in the arts when he moved to New York to study at the Art Students League of New York where he studied under G.I. Bill. In 1950 he was awarded a Guggenheim grant to work on the development of a new color system to make color etchings. Goldstein later started the Graphic Arts department at Adelphi University in 1953 and was named a full professor of art in 1965, becoming a professor emeritus in 1983.
