HUNGARIAN NUDE OIL PAINTING SIGNED KADAR BELA - An oil painting on masonite board depicting a genre scene with two nude women. Signed, Kadar Bela, lower right. Additionally inscribed in the backside. Bela Kadar, Hungarian, French, 1877 to 1956, was a Hungarian painter influenced by Der Blaue Reiter, Cubism, Futurism, Neo Primitivism, Constructivism, and Metaphysical painting. He was born into a working class Jewish family. He began exhibiting in 1918, showed the influence of the Secessionists and Post-impressionists. In 1923 he exhibited with his friend Hugo Scheiber in Berlin at Waldens Der Sturm Gallery; 57 of his works were shown. Der Sturm was one of the most important avant garde galleries in Europe, Kadar continued to exhibit there for several years.
