AMERICAN WATERCOLOR PAINTING BY CARLTON PLUMMER - Carlton Plummer, American, 1929 to 2020, a watercolor painting on paper, depicting a landscape with a lake and mountains. Signed lower right. Matted and framed. Bears an auction paper label on the back side. Carlton Plummer was born in Maine in 1929. He studied at the Vesper George School of Art in Boston, where he studied illustration. During World War II, he was called up for military service, and his education was suspended for two years. During his service, his artistic talents helped him get a job in the Special Services, where he painted murals and designed posters. After his military service, he entered the Massachusetts College of Art. He later became a professor at Lowell State College, which later became the University of Massachusetts. He has also taught in hundreds of workshops around the world. He has received more than 250 national and international awards. His works are in public and private collections around the world.
