Signed in Cyrillic lower left. Framed. Provenance: Estate of Eric Jansson, Roswell, Georgia. Ilya Nikolaevich Zankovsky was born in 1832. Zankovsky studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts in 1862-1863, and then lived in Tiflis, Georgia. The artist began exhibiting no later than 1888, and amongst other organizations, he exhibited with the Society of Russian Watercolourists. He taught at the art school of the Caucasian Society for Encouragement of the Fine Arts, Tiflis, in the late 1880s-1910s. One of a kind artwork.
