Artist: K. Spassky. In the folk tale, ”Teremok” [A Tiny Mansion], familiar since childhood to every Russian, one animal after another settles in a tiny old house; finally, a huge bear tries to squeeze in and brings down the whole structure. In the anonymous artist’s reinterpretation, ”Teremok” and its inhabitants stand for the old regime; the Revolution brings an end to the cozy cohabitation of the moneyed classes of landlords and capitalists.
