RUSSIAN ORTHODOX SAINT NICHOLAS WONDERWORKER ICON - A Russian Orthodox icon of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, also known as Nicholas of Myra. Hand painted with egg tempera, gesso and levkas on the wood board. Gilt accents. Nicholas is depicted as an Orthodox bishop, wearing the omophorion and holding a Gospel Book. There is Christ over his right shoulder holding out a Gospel Book to him and Theotokos over his left shoulder holding the omophorion. Because of the many miracles attributed to intercession of Nicholas, he is mainly known as Nicholas the Wonderworker. Russian Orthodox Icons and Religious Collectibles.
