ENGLISH LITHOGRAPHS BY THOMAS AND WILLIAM DANIELS - A lot of four English color Lithographs of India created and published by Thomas and William Daniell. The lot includes lithographs titled: Part of the City of Patna on the River Ganges, Ramnagar, nearly opposite Bernares, on the Ganges River, Ruins at Cannouge, Mausoleum of Sultan Chuseru near Allahabad. All items are matted and framed. Thomas Daniell, 1749 to 1840, and William Daniell, 1769 to 1837, were English artists, uncle and nephew. They produced numerous prints, paintings, and drawings that had a significant influence on British landscape painting and Orientalist art.
