ABSTRACT COMPOSITION OIL PAINTING SIGNED LOU THEISEN - An oil on board abstract composition painting signed Ludwig Franz Lou Theisen, 1914 to 1995, was a Luxembourgish painter. Signed lower left. Circa 1960. Framed. Theisen initially wrote figuratively, later abstractly. In 1937, he received a bronze medal at the International Exhibition of Art and Technology in Modern Life, the Worlds Fair in Paris. He was a member of the Cercle artistique de Luxembourg art association, where he participated in salons from 1938 to 1970. In January 1949, the salon was held at the State Museum, and art critic Leon Lommel wrote about him: The best works at the exhibition are undoubtedly those by Lou Theisen. His winter paintings immerse us in the gray silence of a snowy day, where everything is drowned in the water of melting snow. A magnificent piece of winter poetry! His still life is very thoroughly executed in pure, harmonious colors. Collectible Fine Art, European Paintings, Wall Decor, Abstract Paintings.
