ANTIQUE INDIAN SCHOOL MINATURE PAINTINGS KING AND QUEEN - Indian School (Mughal-influenced), 19th century A pair of Indian miniature paintings depicting a nobleman and a lady of rank within palace settings, each shown in profile. Executed in opaque watercolour and gold on paper, the works display refined linear drawing, delicate facial modelling, and subtle decorative detailing characteristic of later Mughal and provincial court styles. Presented in matching gilt and ebonised frames. Dimensions Frame 10 5/8 x 8 5/8 in. Image 6 1/4 x 4 in. All measurements are approximate Condition Both works are in good overall condition, consistent with age. The paper is stable with light age-related toning and minor surface marks. Pigments remain well preserved with no visible flaking or losses, and the gold detailing is largely intact with slight dulling in places. Later mounts and frames show minor handling wear. No obvious signs of significant restoration observed.”
