The poster was published in Kyiv in 1921 by a state owned publishing house. The posters artist is unknown, but some sources attribute the work to Ziuli. Signed in the print, lower left. The poster dates back to the period of economic recovery after the Civil War. Donbas was a key industrial and coal mining region at the time, and such appeals were part of a campaign to mobilize resources for its recovery.
