1939 PERSIAN PAHLAVI MARRIAGE GILT SILVER ENAMEL BOX - A vintage gilt silver and blue enamel box made to commemorate the marriage of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi of Persia and Princess Fawzia bint Fuad of Egypt. Such commemorative boxes were often created to mark important events, including royal weddings. The blue enamel and gilt silver construction of the box is crafted with great attention to detail and craftsmanship. The box of rounded form has a domed lid decorated with applied F M monogram surmounted by a Pahlavi crown surrounded by three five pointed stars. Etched with an inscription inside. Hallmarked, Ah.
