ENGLISH SILVER AND GLASS FLATWARE BY BARKER BROS - A large lot of mid-20th century English silver flatware with clear glass handles by Barker Brothers Ltd., a Brimingham-based silver manufacturer established in 1801. A total of 123 items including 8 lemon forks, 16 dessert spoons, 17 butter knives, 14 dessert forks, 17 dinner forks, 17 tablespoons, 15 dessert knives, and 19 dinner knives. Dated 1928 and later. Each handle has an etched Coronet of a Marquess, most likely Spanish, on the tip. Each piece has a makers mark, assay mark, date mark, and lion passant guardant hallmark by the blade. Similar pieces were sold at Northeast Auctions in 2012 and at Sothebys NY Design Sale on April 5, 2023, lot 452. Collectible Silverware, Flatware And Cutlery, English Silverplate.
