Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board with gilt details. Archangel Michael is depicted in military armor and a red cloak, holding a spear with a banner in one hand and a shield in the other, symbolizing his role as commander-in-chief of the heavenly host.
