Signed with casting, Cesar, dated 67, and numbered 3 of 6, on the side. The sculpture is adorned with an engraved structured pattern. Marked, Fonderie Bocquel, on the bottom. Cesar Baldaccini was a noted French sculptor at the forefront of the Nouveau Realisme movement with his radical compressions, compacted automobiles, discarded metal, or rubbish, expansions, polyurethane foam sculptures, and fantastic representations of animals and insects.
