ANTIQUE KOREAN JOSEON HUNTING SCENE SCROLLS PAINTINGS - A lot of two antique Korean Horyeopdo or Hunting Scene scrolls from the late Joseon Dynasty, ca. 18th to 19th century made likely by a painter from the Royal Court. Executed on the finest Jang Ji paper, a heavy, multi-layered handmade paper prized for its durability, the paintings exhibit a vibrant palette of high-quality mineral pigments that have retained their brilliance over centuries. The scrolls capture the dynamic intensity of the hunt: riders in traditional Manchu-style attire, a motif used by the Joseon elite to symbolize military prowess, pursue tigers, wild boars, and foxes through a stylized mountain landscape. The composition is masterfully balanced, showing hunters wielding bows, spears, and tridents with lifelike tension. Each is marked with a faint red seal lower.
