VINTAGE POLISH PAINTING ON PAPER BY LEON SLIWINSKI - A vintage mixed media with watercolor on paper genre scene painting titled Powrot z targu, Returning from the market by Leon Sliwinski, 1916 to 2001, a Polish artist. Signed, titled and dated 1960 lower left. Matted and framed. The painting depicts a spirited equestrian scene of two horses harnessed to a carriage, guided by a driver. The artist utilizes light washes of color to define the surrounding landscape, emphasizing the movement of the central figures through expressive line-work. In 1960, Sliwinski moved to Vienna, where he lived until his death. In 1968 he was awarded the UNESCO Prize for painting. Collectible Mid Century Graphic Art. Dimensions Frame 20 1/2 x 26 1/2 in.
