FOUR CANADIAN COMMEMORATIVE SILVER DOLLARS - A group of four Canadian commemorative silver dollars issued by the Royal Canadian Mint in the mid-1980s. The set in the image contains two distinct designs. 1986 Vancouver Centennial Silver Dollar. Three of the coins celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vancouver and the arrival of the first trans-Canada steam train in 1886. The design features Canadian Pacific Engine No. 371 with the city of Vancouver and mountains in the background. 1987 Davis Strait Silver Dollar. Commemorates the 400th anniversary of John Daviss expedition in search of the Northwest Passage. Depicts a 16th-century sailing vessel with an iceberg in the background and the inscription Detroit de Davis Strait 1587 to 1987. Comes in a protective plastic capsule.
