This piece is plate 82 of the famous Vollard Suite, a series of 100 etchings commissioned by the art dealer Ambroise Vollard between 1930 and 1937. Four models are depicted in a studio setting, lounging before a large, classical sculpted head. This theme explores the relationship between the artist, the model, and the created work.
