RUSSIAN IMPERIAL SILVER ST GEORGE NON CHRISTIAN CROSS - A Russian Imperial silver award, insignia of a Military Order for persons of non-Christian faiths, 3rd degree. The badge is decorated with the double-headed eagle on both sides in the center and numbers 12 and 81 on the arms of the cross. At the bottom of the cross, it reads 3rd degree. The insignia of the Military Order for non-Christian faiths was established in 1844 and differed from the standard St. Georges Cross in that on both sides, instead of the image of St. George the Victorious and the monogram, the image of the Russian State Eagle was placed. It was an award for soldiers and lower ranks of non-Muslim and other non-Christian faiths, awarded for military valor and bravery. Russian Imperial Badges and Military Memorabilia For Collectors.
