Painted in 1761, it depicts a young boy in 18th-century attire holding a large portfolio. Drouais was a prominent artist in the court of Louis XV, known for his charming and idealized portraits of children. Framed by an ornate gilded wooden frame. The frame features characteristic rocaille motifs shell-like carvings, acanthus leaves, and C-scrolls that suggest movement and organic growth.
