This lithograph is engraved after the original sketches of Octavian Dalvimart, who traveled throughout the Ottoman Empire in the late 18th century to document its diverse inhabitants. Published by William Miller, London. Inscribed lower. Matted and framed. Illustrates An Officer of the Janissaries. The figure stands in a dignified posture, clad in traditional, meticulously detailed ceremonial attire. He wears the distinctive tall, white fabric headdress topped with a green crown accent, a long flowing teal-blue overcoat, a striped waist sash, and voluminous red trousers tucked into matching red leather boots.
