GOCHAROV ABSTRACT WINTER LANDSCAPE OIL ON CARDBOARD PAINTING - A heavily textured, highly expressive oil on cardboard by Russian artist A. Gocharov. Executed in 1983, the painting utilizes aggressive palette-knife work to build a thick, nearly abstract composition of stark whites, greys, and earthy browns, suggestive of a winter landscape or a study of birch tree trunks. Marks: Signed and dated ”A Гочаров 1983” (in Cyrillic) lower right.
