MUHAMMAD ALI BOXER STREET PHOTO BY THOMAS HOEPKER - A black and white photograph depicting legendary boxer Muhammad Ali walking under the elevated subway tracks of the L on Chicagos South Side in 1966. The photo was taken by famed German Magnum photographer Thomas Hoepker. In 1966, Hoepker was commissioned by Stern magazine to photograph the champion. He accompanied Ali to London and Chicago, capturing him not only in the ring but also in his everyday life. This series of works by Hoepker, called Champ, has become iconic.
