RUSSIAN NICHOLAS II BRONZE COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL - A Russian bronze commemorative table medal, Abdication of Nicholas II from the Throne, issued in 1993. Dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the abdication of the last Russian emperor, Nicholas II. The obverse depicts a portrait of Nicholas II against a backdrop of historical scenes. Medalist: A. S. Kartashov, the artists signature is visible on the medal on the left. The reverse side of the medal usually contains the text from the Manifesto of the Abdication of Nicholas II of March 2, 1917. This medal is considered one of the first commemorative medals of the Russian Federation with the image of Nicholas II. The abdication of the last Emperor Nicholas II from the Russian throne in favor of his younger brother Mikhail Alexandrovich took place on March 15, 1917 in Pskov and became one of the key events of the 1917 revolution and the history of Russia in the 20th century as a whole.
