In the 1820s, the activities of the Military Topographical Depot of the General Staff and Lithography of the Guards Headquarters, directly related to the image of the Russian military uniform, flourished. The military painter, draughtsman and lithographer at the Department of Military Settlements, Lev Alexandrovich Belousov, 1806to 1854, together with Alexandrov and Fedorov, made sheets in pencil lithography technique under the general title Collection of Uniforms, which was published in separate notebooks in St. Petersburg in the 1820s.
