JAPANESE POET SOSEN WOODBLOCK BY FUJIWARA NO NOBUZANE - A fine Japanese color woodblock print The Poet Sosen, originally based on a painting by courtier and artist Fujiwara no Nobuzane, 1176 to 1265, from the series 36 Celebrated Poets. Circa the early 20th century. Wooden frame. The outer margin is decorated with decorative paper with a wave-like marbled pattern suminagashi in purple, gray, and green tones.
