JAPANESE WOODBLOCK PRINT BY KOBAYASHI KIYOCHIKA - A traditional Japanese woodblock print, part of the triptych format, Second Month: Matsuchi Hill in Snow at Sunset. The author of this work is the famous Meiji era master Kobayashi Kiyochika, 1847 to 1915. The print was published in March 1896 by the publisher Inoue Kijiro. This work is part of an unfinished series of prints titled, True Views of Famous Places in Tokyo. It depicts a winter view of the Sumida River in the Asakusa district.
