Antique Edwardian Sterling Silver Vesta Case by Dingley & Son Birmingham 1911. 25.5g - An antique Edwardian sterling silver vesta case of rectangular form with rounded corners and a hinged lid. The exterior is decorated with all-over engraved foliate and scroll motifs, featuring a vacant circular cartouche to one side. The case is fitted with a suspension ring to the side for attachment to a chain and a ribbed striking plate to the base. The interior retains a gilded finish. Hallmarks are struck to the interior lip and include the maker mark D&S for Dingley and Son, the anchor for the Birmingham Assay Office, the lion passant for sterling silver, and the date letter m for 1911.
