An Antique 9ct Gold and Hand-Painted Porcelain Plaque Brooch by W. Lambert (c.1840–c.1920) Depicting Lancaster City - This antique jewellery item comprises an oval porcelain plaque set within a 9ct yellow gold frame. The plaque features a hand-painted topographical scene of Lancaster city, England, showing Skerton Bridge crossing the River Lune with Lancaster Castle and the Priory Church visible on the skyline. The gold frame is finished with a decorative twisted rope-work border. The reverse of the porcelain is inscribed in reddish-brown pigment with the location Lancaster and signed by the artist W. Lambert (c.1840–c.1920). The metal is stamped 9ct on the lower edge of the frame. The brooch is equipped with a hinged pin and a C-clasp, alongside a small bale at the top for use as a pendant. A safety chain with a safety pin is also attached.
