The first is titled The Book of Curiosities; or, Wonders of the Great World: Containing an Account of Whatever is Most Remarkable in Nature & Art, Science & Literature by the Rev. John Platts. Published in London by Henry Fisher at the Caxton Press. The engraved frontispiece is dated 14 February 1822. The second volume is titled African Aphorisms; or, Saws from Swahili-land, collected, translated, and annotated by the Rev. W. E. Taylor. Published in London by the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge (SPCK) in 1891. This first edition includes a preface by the Rev. W. Salter Price.
