This work is the New, Revised, and Enlarged Edition, edited by James Croston, F.S.A., and includes corrected family pedigrees. The volumes were published by John Heywood, Manchester and London, with Volume I dated 1888 on the title page. Each volume is bound in the original green textured cloth with gilt-stamped titles and Roman numerals on the spines. The set comprises volumes I, II, III, IV, and V. The internal pages are printed on cream paper with occasional foxing.
