A 20th Century Chinese Hardwood and Black Lacquer Cabinet with Hardstone Inlays - This is a 20th-century Chinese hardwood cabinet featuring two central doors above two base drawers. The frame is constructed from a dark-stained reddish hardwood with a visible grain, possibly rosewood or a similar dalbergia species. The cabinet is decorated using the bai bao qian technique, featuring high-relief inlays of various materials including soapstone and mother-of-pearl set against black lacquered panels. The doors depict a traditional scene with four female figures, likely court ladies or Daoist immortals. The top panel is inset with a further black lacquer board decorated with chrysanthemums and garden rockery. The interior is fitted with a single shelf. Height: Approximately 85 cm.
