The designer initials ECP for Edward Carter Preston are located near the base of the portraits. The reverse is inscribed 1937 and CORONATION YEAR, with the central field personalised with the engraved name G. S. WILSON. The medal is housed in its original square dark brown textured presentation case with a purple velvet base and an off-white satin lid lining.
